I can't remember which online parts house I used, but they are OEM mopar bushings, at least that's what the packaging said. Here you have the front left transbos control arm removed from the AWD Magnum. Be careful to make sure you loosen the nut and not the bolt. I wanted to be sure first and see how you guys got them off before I just went ahead and did it.

Once the nut is off give the stud a slight tap with a 3-lbs sledge and the ball joint should pop loose from the steering knuckle I did it with a gear puller some hammers and punches.
Any tips, tricks or pitfalls I should be aware of? All times are GMT The nut side of this setup pto tight and you can't really get any tools in there besides maybe an open end 18mm wrench or an adjustable wrench; and with those tools you run the risk of stripping the nut because there is really no room to turn them.
I bet you can go out and see this much movement on any new AWD.

Now you can trabsbox the new next to the old. I almost have the lower control arm removed from the front left side of the AWD.

Page 1 of 3 1 2 3 Last Jump to page: Trasnbox the reverse side of the bushing there are two tabs next to each hold end, the new bushing does not have these tabs. We just yanked the lower arms and took them to a shop with a press to pop them out and put the new in. Once removed tap the end of the stud to free the tie rod out of the knuckle and then just move it out of the way.
The factory bushings are just really soft. I suggest looking into poly bushings if you don't mind a slightly firmer ride. So playing ear to caution I'm trying to spin the nut ends only, but can't seem to proo a socket or ratchet in over the nuts to loosen them???
